Need some guidance to setup SSD on 2007 iMac

2007 imac 7,1 dual ssd/hdd install boot problems
So two days ago I removed the 320gb hdd that was installed in the 2007 7,1 imac that I have, installed a 240 gb ssd in place of the optical drive and also installed a 1tb in the original hdd place. I am having trouble with the install of mavericks. at first it was stuck at "one second left", I unplugged all my peripherials, that seemed to work to continue the install. After finally getting a clean install and being able to use mavericks, I shut it down and tried to restart, keeps going through the startup sequence for like 15 sec, then just shuts down and restarts. Any ideas? SSD is brand new, the 1TB is about 2yrs old. both were erased prior to any installs.
