Need some help, have old TC range sucks, bought asus AC3100 router

So my old time capsule the range sucks so I bought the Asus AC3100 it will arrive tomorrow. Whats the best thing to do with the time capsule? Just let it bridge itself and cut off all wireless? plug it into the asus? I just want to use it as an ext hard drive. i do not care about time machine working or not. Whats the best thing to do here? Thanks i am on 10.10.5 OS X

Yes. Connect the TC via ethernet, bridge and turn off its wifi. Let the Asus handle DHCP and wifi.

That said, if you find that the Asus doesn't provide sufficient coverage, turn wifi back on (on the TC) and put it somewhere in your place to provide additional coverage (still connected to the Asus by ethernet, though). Use the same SSID and password.
