i can't see any of the files that was on tiger? Could I just try reinstalling tiger from classic?

If there's no way to see your Tiger partition, you might want to try and see if you can access your files by booting from the Tiger DVD. I'm not sure if you can mount a partition from the DVD or not. I'd assume you could browse those files though.

so my only option is buying a new hard drive in which I don't have the money for?? Macintosh is my life and if I don't have a computer then I might die.

Check the hard drive connectors, maybe one of them might be loose since you opened it.
