I just got a Mac and do a lot of quick photo editing for my blog and need something like MS paint. Is there anything like this? Preferably free.

About Paintbrush
A simple paint program for Mac OS X, reminiscent of Microsoft Paint and Apple’s own now-defunct MacPaint. It provides users with a means to make simple images quickly, something which has been noticeably absent from the Mac for years.

What’s New in this Version
- Text Tool now correctly supports subpixel antialiasing
- Removed artifacts associated when clicking on color wells
- Now uses higher compiler optimization

Or:

http://seashore.sourceforge.net/The_Seashore_Project/About.html

Seashore is an open source image editor for Mac OS X's Cocoa framework. It features gradients, textures and anti-aliasing for both text and brush strokes. It supports multiple layers and alpha channel editing. It is based around the GIMP's technology and uses the same native file format.
However, unlike the GIMP, Seashore aims to serve the basic image editing needs of most computer users, not to provide a replacement for professional image editing products. Also, unlike GIMP, Seashore has an all-new Cocoa UI that will fit right in on Mac OS X.
Seashore was created by Mark Pazolli who led the project until the end of 2009.

I use paintbrush. It does the job for me. Heres a link to the devs site: http://paintbrush.sourceforge.net/

You will find nothing, I have made multiple threads about this.

People on this forum simply do not understand the beauty of paint. Gimp and seashore are overkill, and paintbrush is featureless

Paint IMO is the best piece of software MS has ever made.

This post is not sarcastic.

I Agree. 100%.

a quick warning about GIMP:
It runs with x11. You have to double click things for them to work and it is just a general pain in the ass.

Ummmm, what? Works quite normally for me. Perhaps you have an old version of X?

GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is one of the best free image editing software there is for Mac. IMHO, it is not overkill, but it does take quite some time to load up, as opposed to the time MS paint takes to load. Also a note to the moderators-this should go in the OS X software forum.
