Need to copy files automatically from one computer to the other

Basically i have a file that i keep updating in my laptop(MBA) that i want to copy every 2-3 hours to my iMac..

Was thinking to use rsync but not sure if there was a program that will do all the setup for me, since it will need to get copy over the network.

Now this file is a 80gb virtual machine, knowing the way rsync works, every time i change a single thing on that virtual machine is going to copy all 40gb again... Is there a way to make this sync easier? faster?

Ideas:

-Some VM suites allow you to divide your .vhd/.vdi/what have you into multiple, smaller files.

-Would Time Machine be a suitable backup solution?

-I have begun using Carbon Copy Cloner for backups, and it works well, and would probably work for you. However, I think rsync is smart enough to update the file instead of completely overwriting it.

-Check out a program called 'grsync' too.
