I have the SpeakEasy Voice app on my iPhone. As far as I can tell (by the website being down) the program for getting the voice recordings off my phone ('SpeakEasy Connect') is no longer available for download. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get these recordings onto my computer?

Thanks,

BeccaIrene

Turn up the speaker volume on the iPhone and setup your computer to record audio.

Hi - if you never resolved your problem, and still have the data on your phone:

The download program Speakeasy Connect seems not to work anymore (just tried it), on iTunes 10.1 and iOS 4.1.

However, I just tried using wifi download, and that worked. I'm using Speakeasy Voice Recording 1.3; never upgraded to ver. 2., so this may vary dep. on the version.

Get both the iphone and your computer on the same wifi network.

Open the app in your iphone. Click on recordings, then the WiFi button at the top.

That will tell you what wifi address to connect to from your web browser to download your recordings.

That worked for me. Thanks for the tip.

if the WIFI does not work

for me the WIFI options did not work, or took HOURS to get each file off the phone.

So here is ANOTHER SOLUTION:
- download iExplorer software to see all the various files on your phone.
- go to APPs > Speakeasy > Documents
- there you will see all your speakeasy files
- export them via the iExplorer software
- once they are exported the files will be CAF format so go to this link:
http://www.techisky.com/how-to/convert-caf-file-to-mp3.html#method1
to see how to batch convert the files into MP3s etc

worked for me!!

[doublepost=1521155317][/doublepost]Hello everyone

A short while ago I updated my iPhone OS to 11.2.2 and my Speakeasy and Speakeasy Plus apps (the voice recorder, not the linguistic app) stopped working. These apps are no longer available in the App Store and the developers website is dead. I am a musician and was using this app to record compositions both complete and work-in-progress. It has stuff going back over years, much of which isn't recorded anywhere else. I have tried various ways to get the files off but without success. I've tried the iExplorer software and also iFun to pull it off my phone and onto my laptop but neither one can see the app at all. This may be because both pieces of software use iTunes as an interface and Apple no longer offer this app. If I try to open the app on my phone I just get an error message informing me that "Speakeasy needs to be updated to work with iOS 11".

I have now changed my phone from a 7 model to an 8 but cannot sell the older phone because I don't want to lose the contents of the Speakeasy app. Is there any way to get into the files? Can I downgrade the OS to an older version, just so the app will open and allow me to lift the files? I'm not bothered about causing software damage as, once I got the files off, I'll factory reset the phone and sell it on.

Can anybody help me?

John

How recent are your latest recordings? Did you use iTunes to backup the iPhone periodically?
Hi Brian

Thanks for replying. I have never backed up the phone using iTunes, although it is backed up on the cloud. The last recording was probably made about 6 or 7 months ago. I don't think loading a previous back-up would help for two reasons: firstly it wont revert the O.S. to a previous version (which means the app still wont work), secondly, it wont load the app itself because it's no longer available in the app store. I'm also not sure if app data is even included in back-ups, so I may lose the files as well. At the moment I have both the app and the files on my phone. The problem is the app won't open in iOS 11 so I cant access them. iExplorer and iFun can't see them either.

A thought has occurred to me. If this app contained illegal images, I bet the police would be all over them. If I was a terrorist they would soon access every bit of data on my phone. So there must be software that provides access to all it's files. Failing that, I still think the easiest way to solve my problem would be to load an older operating system. But I don't know how to do it.

You’re right about the backups but if you had an old one in iTunes and had something like an iPhone 5C or 5 you’d be able to restore since the last iOS version for those models was 10.3.3. Hence my question.
