You'd better check it "on the spot" before leaving. (Like you should have done the first time).

See, I would have, but I had a lack of something that is called time. I have a life and honestly, I don't think I could've noticed or heard it as the store was very noisy that night.

And NathanMuir, I am a polite but direct person, nobody is getting yelled at from me if I can help it.

I had an early 08' 2.5GHZ 15" and Apple gave me a new Quad i7 2.2 last Thursday because of all the repairs. I just sent in the computer in December for repairs, and it was still acting up. I asked if they ever replace computers and he said yes they do, and I asked him if I could get a new one. He said mine didn't fall under the "guidelines", but said he would feel comfortable swapping me out a new one as I was without my computer for weeks at a time when getting it repaired.

In any case, Apple does do repairs in store. I believe they have employees who are certified and have work spaces in the back. They work on them first come, first serve basis. I know that they replaced the Matte screen on my old MBP in store, took about a week as they were backed up or something.

I'd say a completely botched repair deserves some additional compensation.

I don't know about everyone else, but I can barely find the time to get my car, computer, etc serviced if it breaks. I definitely don't have the time for them to dick around and take multiple shots at it.

Apparently you can find time to post on this forum.

Apple and its employees are not perfect. Nobody is perfect.

Nice sarcastic post. Think about how long it takes to make a forum post. Now think how much more difficult it is to be without a computer you use for work, or a primary vehicle. Are these things comparable? No, not in the least.

Also, who said anything about perfection?

It is not difficult to test someone's notebook after you repair it. Skipping this is negligence, not a mistake.
