OK, so with the upgrade to Big Sur, I lost an app that I occasionally need to use for DNA sequencing analysis (there is no update to this software for Big Sur). I have the Mojave drive cloned to an SSD, and I have VMWare Fusion 12 for Big Sur. Is it possible to use Fusion to run Mojave off of this bootable Mojave SSD? I'd rather not have to reboot into Mojave just to run this app.

TIA!

is the program‘s icon not crossed out on VM this might work.
i doubt that though, many older graphic design wont work
you could get a used macbook pro or air for this important application.

My friend (doctrine in dna replication) always complained how real programs like life saving ones never get the respect compared to music or games on these new computer.

I hope this does work though!

Do you have Fusion? Can create a VM using Mojave?
(don't know, never tried it myself)

If it was me, I'd just reboot to Mojave (on the external drive) and run things that way.
Sometimes "the way you have that already works" is the best/easiest solution.
