My MBP HD will randomly freeze and I called Apple and they are going to exchange it for me (my MBP is less than 2 weeks old).

So anyway, I am going to send in my MBP and I would like to reformat it before I send it. How do I do that? Just insert the OSX disk and let it reinstall?

That's one way.

If you boot off the OS X disk, when the installer comes up, you should have a gray menu bar across the top (like you do normally in OS X). One of the options should allow you to get to Disk Utility which allows you to do all sorts of wipes of your hard drive.

As the above poster said, you should boot from the included media and open disk utility. Click Macintosh HD on the lest side and then erase. Under security options, at a MINIMUM do the zero-out data. A 7 pass is more secure, but will likely take 7 or more hours.
