Sorry if this is in the wrong forum guys...it's kind of a little software and a little hardware related.

We're having a graduation ceremony soon at the college where I work, and one of the students graduating this semester is currently deployed in the Middle East. He is interested in doing a "virtual walk." He wants us to broadcast this thing online somehow so he can watch it, real-time. Problem is (two problems actually):

1. We don't have a streaming server...yet...I'm working on it, but we won't have it in time for this event.
2. This is being done at a remote location -- not at the school.

Assuming the location at which we're having this event is going to be able to provide me with a broadband Internet connection...is there any way for me to go about doing this? I have a Firewire video camera already, and I have both Macs and Windows PCs at my disposal. I'm just not sure how to go about this!

I just did this for MacOutfitters of Doylestown. What you need is two Macs. The one will be connected at the shooting shop via firewire. You run quicktime broadcaster (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/broadcaster/) This can run on a Panther Or Jaguar computer. Now, I reccomend streaming this (broadcaster can only go to one computer) to a computer off site, because of bandwidth issues. (This other computer is pretty much going to have to have some kickass bandwidth). The second, offsite computer needs either Jaguar or Panther SERVER because these have an application called Quicktime Streaming Server. It picks up the one signal from the source and broadcasts it over ip to anyone who has the address (an URL can be a redirect to the stream). Hope this helps!
