When the occasional sports shoot comes by, I need to get my images through and out as soon as I can. I've found that the copy from card process is the bottleneck in my workflow (I tag and caption pretty darn fast), so I'm thinking of shooting with all my cameras tethered to my laptop.

This would automatically import a copy of each photo from the card to the computer, which is to be picked up by Photo Mechanic for IPTC info. That means it just needs to continuously pull photos, not to trigger the shutter or control the camera. I plan to use 3+ cameras of mixed brands, mostly Canon and the occasional Nikon.

Is there such a software for macOS? I've found Lightroom's tethering quite clunky and slow, and am not sure if it does multiple cameras.

I occasionally have a need for something like this too. Apologies, I can't offer a solution that I know of - I'm watching this thread though to see if anyone does :)
