If you go back to that thread, you will see that most people have listed their tweaks/themes/etc. Just download them from Cydia. To get you going, download Winterboard and some compatible themes from Cydia.

Something that I did when I first started customizing my springboard was I downloaded a theme from Cydia, SSH'd into my phone, and then explored the theme. It made it easy to figure what files I needed to place where to get the look I needed. I'm still not completely familiar with it, but I'm much more comfortable customizing than when I first began.
