I'm currently using a Siemens Windows XP Notebook (14-inch widescreen, Celeron, onboard-graphics)

I've got an offer from a friend, a PowerBook user, who want's to sell his mini with 19-inch Sony TFT-Display. It's a Core solo with 2 GB of RAM.
It would cost me 1400 Dollars (1100 Euro).

I know that's not cheap, buit I could pay it in six rates and had the Mac now!

Should I instead save the money an buy a different Mac in six months?

Since I don't have rich parents and don't have any shares I could sell, should go for the mini?

Thanks for your thoughts!

that's too expensive.

a brand new high-end Mac mini (with Core Duo - not Solo) is $799 and you could probably find a 19" monitor for under $300 and RAM upgrade would be around or under $200. that's $1300: $100 less than what your friend is asking.

1) too expensive
2) dont mix friends and money (especially credit when you 'owe' them!)
3) be patient and get a mac when you have the money saved.

That's exactly what I secretly felt.

I think I save for MB Pro or a bigscreen-iMac...

Thanks for Your advise!

That seems really expensive. What are the Ghz of the Mini, and is it a Superdrive? What size is the HD?

AFAIK there was only one Core single model and that had 1,5 GHz.

As you all said, it's truly too expensive...
