i chose to follow these instructions to convert ra to mp3:

    http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20050130184054216

but i get stuck installing LAME - they say it needs to be in your path ... which i'm not sure where that is - i opened the tar gz file and have a folder - the folder contains a whole bunch of stuff - what do i do with that now?

i already waisted a day on ffmpegx - it's too annoying to use - can't get it to give me more then 0kb files and unknown state of installed codecs.
even the downloaded binaries file didn't unzip. but i got a new one which gives me the codecs which just sit there and do nothing.

can any one rewrite or add to that tutorial so it makes sense for dummies? please please?
