yep. me too. I did a reset play counts to fix it (but I really hated losing all the play counts). I was unaware of Doug's scripts at the time.

I had the same thing. Play counts of -28,000 or so.
Just highlight the playcount column and select all and control click and choose reset playcounts.

This happened to me on my old iPod as the disk was dying. It only happened to songs as they were played so my assumption was that the disk was corrupting the playcount as it wrote to the disk. Some became negative, some became massively positive.

Any way to fix and get the real playcounts back?

Hi all

I have this on LOTS of my songs-- hugely negative playcounts. Months ago I got a fix off the forums (which I have forgotten, and which I can't find again). When I updated iTunes, it did it again!! I don't want to reset all play counts, and it will take me a v.long time to do the manual reset of each song that is f888ed.

Any brilliant solutions??

Thanks!!

Exasperated-

I'm sorta having the same problem. My iPod stopped keeping track of my recently played songs exactly a month ago. I did not realize it was doing this until two nights ago because my iTunes library is on my home computer and I've been using my other one for school. I was wondering if anyone knows why it would suddenly stop keeping track...I mean it shows my recently played when I play my iPod through my computer, but other than that it does not show anything else I've played while I'm out and about using it.
