What does it mean if you have a negative unit sold? I was looking at my friend's sales and trends, and i saw this: Units -1 Price .36 Currency GBP Customer Price -.59

He asked me to help him out so I came on here.

Thanks!

You can indeed. Though you need a good reason to have it refunded.

How can you return an app? What is a reason you could put so that they will let you return the app?

iTunes has been known to offer refunds on apps that the purchaser feels was not as promised, if you provide an decent and polite explanation.

Ahh okay, thanks. I don't believe his app was bad or not as promised. The description was the same as the product and the screenshots showed the same app that you would purchase.

Thanks everyone!

That doesn't matter, if a customer isn't happy, they'll bitch and complain until they get a refund. I've had a few refunds issued. Reasons customers claimed weren't even anything I could control. Some people just like to complain, even about a 99 cent app.

What I hate is that they get to keep the app when they get the refund, not sure if this still happens. But I know of a person who got a refund once or twice and still kept the app.

Did he lose money? I read an article that a developer can actually lose money if people keep getting refunded!

You can only lose money on refunds if well over half of all your apps at any price point are returned. However, most developers see a return rate of maybe between 0.1% and 1% of all downloads. For these small amounts, Apple seems to have been deducting only the developers 70% share, even though the agreement says they could subtract more.

But YMMV.
