My Son’s first Mac unfortunately got damaged by DPD in transit. Return arranged and placed another order. Two more weeks to wait but cannot risk internal problems.

With a dent seen on the top, I would have done the same. It stinks that it happened to you but, it is a harsh and ugly reality of delivery roulette. I hope the next Mac is much better.

Also they might not even refund. They will just say you did something and we always check first before shipping. No way we sent it out like that will be a response from them.

It's aluminum, it will dent.

I've worked with hardened armor grade aluminum and it dents too.

If you are that concerned about how easy aluminum is to dent then don't ever buy a MacBook or an iPhone 17.

It will dent with normal use, but I certainly wouldn’t expect it to arrive dented…

OP isn’t even blaming Apple or the materials. They’re just blaming the shipper.

That damage is on the shipper, not Apple. You have no idea how much force and what object created the damage. Based on the damage to the box, the damage to the computer, a small object was slammed into the box, with significant force.
It is the shipping persons fault not Apple. But Apple could of designed something a little more sturdier. But I guess not for 599. If it was bullet proof that would add a few more 9's to the cost.

You quoted my reply to someone other than the OP who was complaining about Apple using aluminum. That person stated :

Unacceptable Apple. Straight out of the box especially. If it dents that easily no thank you.

And I would be upset at the shipping company who is totally at fault with a dent like what the OP showed. That kind of damage is beyond anything normal.

Unfortunately it looks like it was hard to see the actual damage to the Neo until after the outer package was opened. Otherwise I would have rejected the package as damaged at delivery, Yes that is always an option.

Oh ok, you didn't quote the post originally so I thought you were replying to the OP.
