As title asks, is the Neo on display at the Apple Stores or Best Buy? Would like to check it out hopefully before the 11th.

11th is when you can see, touch and handle one.

Apple stores will be busy with pre-orders and walk ins so be aware.

They won’t have them on display in stores until the general release day, so March 11.

I don't know why Apple always does this, what's the delay for? It's not like they needed the time as they've planned this release for months, and even announced the products before stores opened at 10AM on the east coast. I know some of it is build hype and pre-orders but just doesn't make sense to wait a full week.
Same goes for the M5 Air/Pro laptops, they announced at 9AM EST, so just have them for sale when the gates open at 10am 🤷‍♂️

Because imagine the leaks if Apple sent the new product line to stores in advance of it being announced. And there's no guarantee every Apple Store could receive the devices within 24-48 hours of them being announced, so then you'd have some Apple stores with the devices and some without, all while customers walking in would be confused as to why they can't buy them.

It's actually a quick turnaround, usually when Apple announces a new device, it's not in stores until the following Friday at the earliest.

The answer is because Apple wants to control the narrative. This lag time alows approved reviewers to do their job and post a thorough and fair review.

First impressions are everything. There’s a big difference between customers going into the stores thinking “I heard this is a great notebook from Engaget, let me check it out” vs. “I saw on YouTube from Joe Schmo handling this thing, the trackpad sucks.”

I don't know what the point would be of displaying it, if they can't sell it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A couple reasons:
1. They aren't going to have products on display in the store that you can't actually buy yet. That just leads to friction with customers who may be annoyed that they can't actually buy the product on display today.
2. If they aimed to have a simultaneous announcement and general availability in stores that would mean they would have to ship the products to the stores ahead of the announcement, which would lead to a lot of leaks of new products and reduces their ability to control the narrative around new products.

These past many years Apple always creates a hype and FOMO situation.

The delay from pre-order to release day definitely creates a hype.

On release day, Neo launch day may not be as frantic and congested in the Apple stores, like iPhone releases, but I know that I have a 15 minute window to pick mine up - creating the FOMO.
