They may start at the same price, but it's a very different buyer.

One is an entry level laptop, all in one, complete system.

The other is a desktop that requires you provide a display & peripherals.

The latter is a far better actual computer, but it's lacking several elements of a complete system out of the box.
 
I have to agree, especially since I own both. The Neo is good for portability and casual daily use. The Mac mini is more powerful and can run more memory intensive programs.

They compliment each other. I can work on documents with either and then switch to the other. And the mini is there for the heavy lifting when I need it.
