Thought I was crazy but is anyone else seeing this?

We have a Nest Cam in my son's room and I was in the room during his bed time to help him go to sleep. I opened up my Nest App to the dashboard screen (a live preview of the camera) and I noticed that my iPhone X was flashing my face every few seconds which I'm assuming was the infrared camera being picked up by the camera. When I clicked in to the detail view of the Nest Cam in the app it stopped flashing. But as soon as I go back to dashboard view it was flashing again in the preview.

Anyone else see this? More of a curiosity and not clear on why Nest would need access to it.

What exactly did you notice flashing? And flashing how exactly?

I don't have a Nest Cam, but I have other Nest products. The Nest app (assume it's the same?) still looks like it's not optimized for the X, so it's unlikely that they built any additional X specific functionality to it. As @Vermifuge said, it's probably just iOS doing attention awareness. Interesting situation, and this will probably open the floodgates for more oddities (or intrusions) of the X face scan tech.

I got a nest house, all the products they make and neither my X nor my wife’s X flash when using the app for face id, only if we physically logout of the app...i would say reinstall the app

You wouldn't see the flash unless you had some sort of camera that was sensitive to the IR spectrum.

This just happened to me too, but I don’t know why only at the dashboard preview we can see the flashing light and not when entering the camera full screen. When checking at the preview small video, I see the blinking light is every 2-3 secs
