Wherever my feet take me…
I was playing around with Yosemite Server this morning and I can't figure out how to nest groups. For example: in a school setting, I'd like to have a Students group. This Students group will be populated by only 6 groups: Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, up to 5th grade. And then have the individual student accounts within those grade level groups. I'm not sure how to do this in the Yosemite Server app. I want to do nested groups so I can set consistent settings for all students once, and then grade level specific settings.

In Mavericks & earlier, I would use Workgroup Manager, but I haven't seen a Yosemite version of it, yet.

Hi, guzhogi.

To nest groups double-click the group you would like to add sub-groups to.
Click the Plus "+" button below the Members: area.
Start typing the name of a group you would like to nest.
As you type a list of matching groups should pop up.
Select the appropriate group.
Repeat until you have nested the groups you want.
Click the OK button to apply the change.
