nestopia startup problems

Hello,
I downloaded nestopia and have a rom ready to go. However, whether I click on the nestopia icon or on the rom, all that happens is, the nestopia icon appears on the dock with my other application shortcuts, then disappears a few seconds later. That's it. I am using a G4 with OS X 10.3.9. What do I need to do to make this work properly?

Did you drag the application out of the disk image before trying to run it?

Yes, I tried dragging it to a few different places -- the desktop, the applications folder, etc., and when I click on it it still just opens and closes after a second or two. Nothing happens.

Only other thing I can suggest is maybe try downloading it again. Nestopia works fine on my G4 iBook running 10.4.7.
