Hi, I am opening this forum for Netatmo users.
I have several Netatmo devices ans most recently door sensor tags. The Welcome camera works with HomeKit but I can’t find a way to have my door sensors on HomeKit. I do not want to use 2 apps…HomeKit for the camera and the Netatmo app for the tags. Tags are not HomeKit compatibles? ??!!! Any feedback will be appreciated.

I took the liberty of checking out the Netatmo website and it appears the sensors (indoor siren is another) do not have the HomeKit badging but most of their other products do. If it’s a fairly new device, it could be awaiting HomeKit certification. When “Matter” rolls around, it’s also possible they may be updated to support that protocol since Netatmo is owned by Legrand and Legrand is on the list of companies that will be implementing “Matter.”

Your best bet would be to contact Netatmo and get this information straight from the horse’s mouth. The sensors are pricey and if they’re going to impede your plans for an all-in-one home automation app, like HomeKit, it would be best to find out now before you’re in too deep. I do not have any Netatmo products so perhaps someone else can chime in as well.

Netatmo door and window sensors (formerly named Tags) aren't HomeKit compatible.

Actually they aren't new. I bought them in 2016.

Maybe Netatmo will make them compatible eventually. Who knows.

The HomeKit certification isn't always simple. Their security camera has been certified after a long development. Their weather station required a hardware upgrade to make it compatible (basically releasing a new upgraded model). I made my old weather station HomeKit compatible through Homebridge.

Their sensors rely on their camera to work which has to be taken into account.

Thank you for your reply both of you. Do you have any other Netatmo products? I am interested about your workflow. I have the Welcome camera of course. Will receive the outdoor camera with siren and I am looking at the doorbell which has good reviews. I am not interested in having multiple brands but rather one. The Welcome camera does the job. I only regret it is not 2 ways audio (not sure though I would use it). The video 1080p HD quality is ok…could be 2K and the facial recognition works really well. I am looking forward to receiving the outdoor camera with siren even though it is not 2 way audio too. Well I will see how it goes. If I am satisfied I will go for the door bell and maybe the indoor siren which goes along with the Welcome camera. I will post a note to Netatmo asking them if they plan to have them HomeKit compatible which would be a great addition to my workflow.

I own the Indoor Camera, three Tags, the Weather Station and the Wind Gauge.

I'm quite satisfied with all of them. I have considered the Doorbell, too.

On their forum the HomeKit request for Tags was already made: https://forum.netatmo.com

It doesn't hurt if you ask again, of course.

Netatmo is somehow slow in the development. Sort of nice-and-easy approach. I'm not talking about specific new features requested by users. When they announce something, months pass before the effective roll out.

I have read they are slow in dev too. I am a very new Netatmo user. Thanks for the forum links. I did not know about it. I guess I need to register with new credentials as the one I use for they app are not working.

I found this on their website. See down below. Misleading no?

Which smart accessories are compatible with HomeKit?

Many connected object brands now offer accessories that are compatible with the Home app for HomeKit. To identify them online, e.g. on Amazon, or in stores, check for the symbol indicating that the product is compatible: "Works with Apple HomeKit". The range of compatible products is continually growing and there are HomeKitcompatible accessories for every sector: security, task automation, energy management, leisure, etc. Brands that offer smart home products compatible with HomeKit include Phillips, Netatmo, Fibaro, Tado, Elgato, Logitech and Koogeek. More and more manufacturers are also soon expected to make all or part of their range of devices compatible with HomeKit.
Below are a few examples of smart accessories that can be controlled using the Home app:
  • Home security products: smart surveillance cameras, motion sensors, smart video doorkeeper, smoke alarm, leak detector, carbon monoxide sensor, etc.

Netatmo Homekit users,
Is there a way to set up your iPhone to vibrate when their is an alarm event! Let’s say I am outside someone breaks into the house or someone gets in but is unknown and the alarms starts. I am not nose down on my iPhone all day long and would like to get notified with my iPhone vibrating or ringing. It would makes sense, no?

Does not seem to be triggered. This is insane!
So there is no alarm tile for the Netatmo in the Home app? perhaps the Netatmo app has its own version that you can get notifications for. This is what my Aqara Hub alarm tile looks like and I get set notifications for it if it’s triggered…
