Compared to my ATV2, Netflix has changed as it now shows a screenshot and a synopsis for each episode of a series, which it didn't do before. There are several other tweaks which make it look, in my opinion, quite nice (YMMV).
The New Netflix is quite different the ATV 3. It is using the New Netflix UI that it has on other platforms. I.E. My VIZIO Netflix App is the same. I believe it is that same on Roku. Some do not like it and at first on my VIZIO I did not. But I have gotten use to it and I believe in some ways I like it better. I think personal preference.
What did I say in my post that was confusing? You still have access to everything but the UI is now the New Netflix UI that they put on all New Devices.Wait so the netflix on the new APPLE TV 4 looks different than the Netflix on the apple tv 3?

Apple tv 3 is as new as a bush running for presidentwhy didnt they update the UI on the apple tv 3 if its on all other "new" devices?
Apple has more control on what the UI looks like on the ATV 3 and I think limited options. I think the ATV 4 which now has an "App Store" gives more freedom to the App Developer. On a side note the ATV 2 did not get the most recent iOS 7 that is on the ATV 3. I was actually surprised to see the new CBS and NBC Apps on both the ATV 2 and ATV 3 so maybe somethings will continue to hit the older devices.why didnt they update the UI on the apple tv 3 if its on all other "new" devices?
At no time do you mention which generation.i asked how it is compared to the apple tv 3 not your apple tv 2, the apple tv 2's interface has not been updated in a long time.
It looks like this now http://www.engadget.com/2015/07/22/netflix-video-update/

No you didn't. And with that attitude and tone, go figure it out yourself.
DD+ on Netflix is not actually "HD". On the contrary, it streams at a lower bitrate then they used for DD (192 instead of 384kbps). The audio quality is at best equal (since DD+ has slightly better compresson efficieny). Also, the ATV4 is able to output the DD+ stream or decode it to PCM (depending on your audio settings).2) Same movie on the Shield shows HD 5.1 (DD+) but on ATV it does not show 5.1

As far as the UI is concerned, I agree. I like the old version a lot better.
Truly awful isn't it. Netflix used to be a premier service for movie and tv buffs. Now it seems to be a low quality ITV wannabe for binge watching teens. Here is the most insanely idiotic thing about the new Netflix app :
You are not allowed to watch the end credits of movies anymore.
