Now if they could just clean up the interface on 4th Gen TV.

I agree, it is horrible. I guess a lot of people complained about the lack of Genres on the ATV4 version of Netflix, so it was finally added a few months ago. Even still, the new genre menu is pretty bad when compared to the ATV3 version.

I wish there was a way to get the ATV3 version of Netflix on the ATV4. The ATV4 version looks nicer, but it is very messy, and disorganized.

I noticed that a lot of video apps has a style similar to Netflix on the ATV4, so I guess people like the side scrolling way of organizing, but I find it hard to explore and find stuff.

I still jump on my ATV3 to explore Netflix just to find something then watch it on the ATV4.

Netflix rocks beyond belief. Three years in with no cable and it's better than ever.

I'd stay for the Marvel shows alone, but Stranger Things, Orange.., original flicks, and all the popular tv series I never watched (11 Seasons of Bones!) keep me well entertained.

Combined with my Prime subscription I really have WAY more Tv than I have time for. I actually shut my Hulu off because I just didn't have time for it, and their content was not for me (hate all reality tv with a passion).

Got the free month of HBO too, so binging Westworld (damn it's good) takes up my evenings.

Netflix is so good. They're churning out original content like crazy. Just got into The Crown. Very good.

Being able to download their videos basically means they have me forever.

Make sense, Netflix doesn't swamp you in commercials making a 40 minute show go for almost 2 hours.
Cable companies have ruined the fun of watching shows.

Is it the cable companies that are responsible for the commercials, or the networks that carry/provide content?

i don't even watch television anymore. I like to watch television on my time when I want

Just got done binge watching An Unusual Set Of Eventd as well and cant wait for season 2 of that.
I imagine A Series of Unfortunate Events transpired while you tried to recall the name of the show you wanted to mention... :D

In all seriousness, I really dug that one, too. Kinda ticked my wife got like 4 episodes in before I noticed she'd started it...

No one is stopping and taking a moment to just appreciate this technology? HD stream instantly any where with fast jumping around the timeline?
When I first saw a video on the internet I was in awe. I think it was in RealPlayer.

They completed their migration to AWS and service has been stellar. .

whats AWS? Amazon? Amazon is providing servers for their Amazon Video competitor? Also I thought Netflix competitive advantage was their superior fast servers!?

they need to stop bowing to the studios and allow me access to the full catalogue and stop playing the whack a mole game of blocking access across regions

The majority of folks commenting and writing about technology are too young to remember when we marveled at how efficiently Netflix moved red envelopes around the US. Video streaming was like science fiction.

I try to explain to my kids how wonderful Netflix is and other entertainment like it. They just don't understand.

I would of loved Netflix and YouTube when I was a kid. I remember the first time I saw DVDs and I thought that was like science fiction. You could instantly rewind, and fast forward to your favorite scene.

That said, the technology wouldn't matter much if Netflix had underwhelming content. Most of the comments are talking about how great the content is, which is probably why it is doing that well.

I understand what you are saying, but this could be said about almost every article posted on here. A lot of the tech today would be like magic 20-30+ years ago.

Amazon Web Services. It's a huge part of their business and growing fast, and they are the leader in that market. They compete for contracts on server architecture, cloud computing, storage, on demand instancing, and some (a lot) other stuff. So their primary competitors are the likes of Microsoft (Azure) and Google in the cloud sphere; and HP, Dell, IBM and a few others that provide physical server systems for those that host their own data centers.

No longer subscribe to Netflix BECAUSE of their original content, for which they gutted their movie catalogue. Don't watch "TV shows" whether they are produced by Netflix or CBS. I was only there for the movies.
It has become pretty obvious that the growth Netflix is seeing now is because of the original programming. Sure some may leave but it is a small minority compared to the growth they are now seeing.

Yeah, but Netflix was like a dream just 10 years ago not 30. I mean just 5 years ago I was using BlackBerry that had difficulty playing YouTube videos that showed GPRS and Edge sometimes. When Steve Jobs showed FaceTime he said this is like we are on the Jetsons, and thats like only 6 years ago.

Other tech really didn't change much like cars, phones, airplanes.
