+1 this x100. WHY DON'T MORE PEOPLE DO THIS???? Do people really need some services 12 months a year?? Something I never understood besides being lazy.
Yes. I want my service 24x7x365. The same way some of my other subscriptions that don’t have to do with content I want 24x7x365. For the premium plan for $240 I’m not going to cancel and deactivate and then cancel and reactivate. It’s a waste of my time and energy and saps the enjoyment out of browsing the catalog. All of this imo.

I only have a few subs. Is there any other sub besides Netflix that charges extra for 4K? Or is only available on the highest tier?

Yes Max is the same subscription setup. HD with ads, HD without ads, 4k premium. But to their credit they provide an annual subscription option, something Netflix should do.

Now that streaming has balkanized so heavily and you need to pay for 3-4 more expensive separate subscriptions to access all the content you could originally get on one, the "ahoy matey" cost/benefit ratio for the average person is very much shifting back to pre-2010 levels.

I suspect the average user has no idea how to pirate content such that the effort required vs the cost of a monthly subscription simply isn't worth the trouble to pirate.

Even if you do, the time it takes to find content, get what you and your family wants, ensure it is actually a complete video, make sure you haven't downloaded some malicious software, paying for it is a lot less hassle and for most users well worth it.

This thread has brought out the hypocrisy as people justify what amounts to stealing. We have been so innured about the internet being mostly free, most don’t bat an eye in an attempt to get content they didn’t pay for.

I was once in a corporate meeting where they were d/l graphics from the internet for a training product we sold.

When I pointed out the stuff they downloaded may be copyrighted and puts us at risk of a lawsuit, our attorney (!) said "It's on the internet so it's free." So I pulled up some of our proprietary training from other sites on the internet and asked him "So any of our competitors can use our training and case studies for free?" Answer" "That's different..."

Yea, because it's our ox that's being gored...

You must be employed by Netflix or heavily invested in it. What two subscriptions does Netflix cancel out?
Either way it’s not relevant to me. My family who used to live with us is now in a location of their own. They are the ones picking up the subscriptions. And if I choose I can go from premium to standard.

A) I think they’ll learn, if current trends continue. They used to do it, they can again.

B) It’s easier with Plex and a couple friends than streaming. When I want to watch a specific movie, it’s much easier to search Plex (my friends’ libraries) than try to find what streaming service it is on, and then navigate their almost certainly ****** app, to a probably lower quality copy. All content in one location, in better quality than the streaming services offer 😜

There hasn’t been any major announcements of people arrested for digital theft lately, but that could start to change.
