Netflix today updated its iOS app to add support for Apple's latest devices, the iPhone 6s and the iPad Pro. The app now includes a layout that's been optimized for the 12.9-inch screen of the iPad Pro for an improved look that offers more content at a glance.

3D Touch support is available in the form of Peek and Pop gestures, providing more information about movies and television shows from the main browsing screen. 3D Touch support does not extend to Home screen Quick Actions.

- Post-Play experience (episode auto-play/recommendations) now on iPhone
- iPad Pro optimized layout
- 3D Touch support

"Post-Play experience (episode auto-play/recommendations) now on iPhone"

No doubt not able to be disabled, like the horrendous AppleTV version. I'll never know as I finally got fed up and unsubscribed yesterday. Good riddance Netflix.

...And no PiP.

I just don't get it.
I'm curious, why would you want to watch two shows at the same time?

You got rid of Netflix because it recommended other shows?

No but perhaps he would like to see a show, and surf the web at the same time.
Netflix should bring an update to support split screen at least.
And Apple should update iOS for iPad to allow for vertical split screen /multitasking instead of just horizontal.

now if only Netflix, and every other video app, could add a button to skip ahead 10 or 15 seconds because trying to jump ahead using the bar sucks really, really bad.

Jesus do you people even know what PIP is????? The whole point Apple implemented it is so you can be in ANY app and still watch something. Youtube PIP only work in their app, pointless if you want to do other things. Same with Netlfix.

Maybe pip is a problem with iOS and not Netflix.

My 3 year old Note 3.

it's a bit odd that they don't support iOS 9 multi-tasking features - unlike YouTube, Netflix has no need for inserting interactive ads on top of the video content, so PiP at least won't hurt them at all.

I like the new look.

Those of you who constantly complain about post play..... Turn. It. Off. Or... Just cancel it by 'return to video' option.

Crybabies on here.....

Of course we know what PiP is. Thanks for asking.

Apple implemented PiP so we could watch while ANY app is running, but it's up to the app vendors to implement any/all of that functionality. YouTube technically does offer PiP because we can watch a video while browsing other videos. It does not, however, offer full functionality. Hopefully they will but I'm not going to hold my breath. After all... it's the Apple model: announce an upcoming feature then implement only part of it at first, expanding over time.

Seems like not everyone quite knows:
You want to watch two Netflix shows on the same screen?

That said, Apple has made the functionality available and it's up to the app developers to use it, nothing has been stopping them from doing it since the iOS 9 beta days essentially.

i really don't like how Netflix works on the new Apple TV, it just lets you binge on! It had been bothering me for some time now, as sometimes i fall asleep watching something on Netflix and its just goes on and on, even after the TV goes off. Then I have to wake up and scroll back up to the last episode i remember watching. First world problem, i know... but you'd think that issue would've been resolved by now.

So why don't you change the option associated with that feature in your account?
