I'm having very annoying problem with streaming HD from Netflix. For some reason I cannot get HD quality, video is very grainy on iPad Air. I compared side by side with iPad 3 and it's streaming fine, everything looks sharp on iPad 3. Is anyone having the same issue? I even reset to factory setting and same thing.

I'm using Airport and if it's junk why it works fine on my iPad 3?

Which AirPort? Dual band?

Make sure both iPads are using the same network (2.4vs5GHz) for starters, also disable bluetooth see if that clears things up.

Also try running speedtest from both iPads.

OK, I just checked mine...I have a solid 32MBp/s connection and mine is very pixelated as well. To ensure something else wasn't eating memory, I closed all apps and rebooted. After a reboot it was the same.

Same speed on both iPads. So I'm not the only one with the problem.

Hmm, just watched House of Cards and it looked fine. The title credits did look fuzzy though. It would appear the Netflix app needs updating for 64bit.

Normally I watch Netflix on my ATV3 and it's flawless unless the internet is slow.

Fired up my Netflix on the Air. Streaming works fine in HD however I have a menu display problem. Only half of the screen in Home menu and browsing titles displays. The other half is blank. Odd problem. Does not matter if it's in landscape or portrait. Hmm

You're right. iPhone 5S is also grainy. It's definitely 64-bit hardware issue.

Confirmed. I deleted and reinstalled and everything looks good. I tried Private Practice which is in Super HD (not sure what that is) and after a few seconds of pixelation it came in super clear.

Not working for me still grainy.

With a lot of 64 bit improvements for other apps. Sometimes uninstalling and reinstalling fixes the problems. I had apps making my iPhone5 run super hot. After a quick uninstall and reinstall, it works. Updates don't always work right.

Go into settings, Netflix and make sure video playback wi-if only is selected.

Already did it still grainy, even checked player setting on Netflix site it's showing HD streaming. I'm afraid it's hardware problem?

Dude, I have the EXACT same issue. My iPad 3 and nexus 7 load up HD just fine. The Air sticks at low res. If I reboot the iPad, it works sometimes. But more often than not it sticks with low resolution. I have a 100mbit line as well with an Asus AC router....bandwidth is not the issue. If anyone can figure it out let me know. It's just weird that the iPad 3 has no issues with this and it has the same version of iOS.
