Narcissism would be saying one service is better than another merely out of loyalty, no other reason.

As for phones and the Moon... right now iPhone 17's are flying around the Moon as part of the Artemis II mission. Shouldn't we be super proud of Apple for reaching that status with their attention to high-quality product design?

Why would you be proud of apple? They're a company?

Weird take.

Targeting kids 8 and under ...
I sure am glad my kids grew up before all this crap...

Yeah, I would advise any parent to scout this app first in search of any political or idealogical targeting by Netflix before allowing a kid to use it. Or better yet, do not use it at all.

So, wait, is this app targeting kids going to have ads in it (and the included games), or not?
I only ever tried their solitaire game, and that was a while ago so I don't remember if they stuffed it full of ads. I do remember having to initially sign into the app with my Netflix account, though, so having an intermediary game center type app hosting the games instead and managing a single sign in would be preferable. That is, assuming there's finally some compelling games in the future.

Good to see that it is available with all plans and that it will be available globally very soon. Might be popular and successful.

Ouch.

Time for Apple to compete with the likes of MS Game Pass

1) Bundle the AAA games (Cyberpunk, RE, Crimson Desert etc.)
2) 15.99 monthly
3) Profit????
4) Yield those profits into maturing GPTK??

Cmon tim...
They just don’t have enough AAA titles for this.

For peoplewho doplayAAA games on Mac, chance are they have already bought the existing games via Mac Store or Steam already, and without at least one new AAA title a month, this is dead in the water.

They can’t even manage to get Mac versions of Rockstar games available on iOS and iPadOS.

Not going to happen. Apple hasn't been every moderately gaming-focused in 50 years, and they aren't going to start now.

If gaming is your jam, get a console or a PC.
i dont need inferior technologies.

i can play everything i want and more and all the latest aaa games on my mac thanks to crossover. why would i own more than one expensive and powerful computer. futile.

you do not need anything else. please stop reccomending me products from microslop

I just prefer a Switch.

i prefer emulators. mac runs switch better than a switch

for full developer support, you can buy the game, and then download a copy online to play it.

you might miss online but doesnt really bother me

To each their own.. Too big of a hassle, and I don't want to mess with it. Gaming on a computer just isn't interesting.

Plus, 2-4 of our can sit around the tv and play at once, unlike on a computer.

The price of the streaming services are SUPER cheap compared to past Cable packages. I think the stress around cost comes from being overburdened with too many subscriptions to manage every month. Death from a 1000 cuts.

Individually they are, but for some reason many people think you need 3 or 4 services, then the price isn't cheaper.

I recall that our DirecTV satellite bill was $50-80 a month, depending.

Money might be better spent buying your kid a bike or a baseball or puzzle or watercolor painting kit. 🤔
Kids don’t live on Walton mountain anymore. It’s a sad reality. Also I do wonder at how the kids aged 6-8 will react when they just want to play Roblox with their friends and collect brainrots…

In their non-kids games, they don’t have ads. Uncertain if these will, but I’d expect that part of the value proposition for a parent is the kid not watching a lot of unrelated ads or bugging parents to buy what’s in the ad. 🙂
