Netflix and Hulu won't play in Safari. Not sure if this is a general Safari thing or a High Sierra Safari thing? Tried enabling both Flash and Silverlight. No luck. They both work with Chrome.

Sorry to hear that LarryJoe, some more things I thought of but you've probably already checked:
- Try disabling any extensions you have installed.
- Try viewing Netflix in a Private Window.
- Give the Safari Tech Preview a shot and see if it yields different results.
No problem! Safari Tech Preview is basically a beta version of Safari with new technologies, it might help. https://developer.apple.com/safari/technology-preview/Thank for trying. I appreciate it. I’m not familiar with the Safari tech preview?
Thanks for the link. I tried it and still no luck. Strange, it has to be a setting. A few questions on the Tech Preview, can you use extensions with it? It seemed to have all my bookmarks, but my password manager extension wasn't there? Lastly, I noticed a Safari Beta above it for download, I assume this is the same version in High Sierra? No problem! I'll try to answer the best I can. Thanks for the link. I tried it and still no luck. Strange, it has to be a setting. A few questions on the Tech Preview, can you use extensions with it? - Extensions work in the Tech Preview just like in regular safari. You just need to install them separately.
- I use iCloud Keychain and my passwords transferred over to Tech Preview, might be different if you're using third party but I'm not sure.
- Correct, I believe everyone on High Sierra is using Safari 11 beta right now. Tech Preview includes some more features and is considered to be more unstable.
Yeah, Tech Preview gets hiccups when visiting some poorly optimized websites but it's nothing too bad. I use Safari 11 as my main right now and log on to the Tech Preview from time to time.Thank you. I use LastPass (iOS and MacOS) and have been using it for at least 6 years I believe. If I weren't using it I surely would use iCloud Keychain. It seems very competent. I think I will stick with regular Safari beta for now (you did mean "unstable" right and not "stable"?), I did notice that Keychain was carried over to Tech Preview.
Hopefully, Netflix, Hulu and Showtime will start working in Safari or the next release. I don't really want to use Chrome.
Thanks for the clarification. Yes, I have tried messing with both Flash and Silverlight, on/on, on/off, off/on...you get the point. It's obviously bugging me!Yeah, Tech Preview gets hiccups when visiting some poorly optimized websites but it's nothing too bad. Sorry you're still experiencing issues, and I hope they get back to working again!
Edit: I do have Flash installed on Safari 11 as well btw, and I do enable it for some websites. I didn't see if you tried that or not, but it could be a temporary solution.
try creating a test 'admin' account and see if they work there (then you'll at least know if the problem is global, or tied to your account). you did try reinstalling silverlight?
This sometimes happens to me, but I just quit Safari and reopen, and it always works.Cleared for Netflix and still not working. I hate having to use Chrome. Any other ideas? Getting the "oops something went wrong"
The reality is that I almost never use my MBP for Netflix, Hulu or Showtime, but its bugging me. Just when I travel. I'll lean on Chrome for the rare occasion I want to watch these. Actually, Chrome really works better for most streaming TV Type content anyway. For example, the layout of the Xfinity site doesn't load the way it's supposed to with Safari (a very important menu bar is missing).you may want to export your bookmarks (so you can re-import them back), then completely reset safari (you'll lose cookies, etc as well). but simplest for now: use chrome for netflix/hulu... not what you want, but at least it works...
