The (current) prices mentioned in the original article don’t match what I can see in account settings?! There is no £7.50 tier. Or £9 tier. Unless these are the new prices? 531FB11B-3DD8-47D5-B8D5-3751A5CF7F98.png

Do you know what I could do with that £1. Er, ermmm, oh, ah, hmmm. Not a lot actually.

It’s still cheaper than the tv licence I have to pay every year so the BBC can make programming, which they can then try to sell to me again at a later date on UHD Blu-Ray because they didn’t broadcast it in that resolution. Probably.

Programming costs a hell of a lot of money, hopefully Netty will get more quality shows in their lineup.

I didn’t realise Netflix’s provided a Radio network and countless ad-free, high quality websites.

Wow, they really are worth the money.

Perhaps, but at least Netflix have the decency only to charge me for the services I use ;)

So Netflix’s refunds you for every show/movie you don’t watch?

Maybe just cancel your licence fee and stick to Netflix’s.

You missed the wink. Why does no-one pay attention to the important part.

I will grant you this though, the Netflix fee is more than the portion of the TV license allocated for TV production. And Netflix has more subscribers than the population of the UK.

Though of course Netflix isn’t a not for profit, whereas the BBC is. On the flip side of that though, the BBC sells it’s content on dvd and Blu-Ray, to bolster their funding. So all in all it probably about balances out.

One thing I don’t know off the top of my head is how many shows Netflix produces as compared to the Beeb. I’d wager it’s not as many, not to mention all of the staff the Beeb has to pay, when you factor in their news services and such.

So it does possibly point to the Beeb doing more with the money they have. Even if it’s not as many big budget extravaganza’s as Netflix.
I may not use their radio or website services. But I do watch, emmmm, well, I like have I got news for you.
