Now if only there was a way to prevent Netflix from auto playing the next episode when an episode finishes. ‍♂️
You can. It’s on the website in accounts.

You can do this on the desktop version at netflix.com in the preferences section. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding the issue.

edit: On the off chance that I'm not, it's under Account -> Profile -> Playback preferences, or something like that, mine's in Finnish.
Unfortunately, that doesn’t look available in the US. I only have options for quality and next episode auto playback.

This is one of the best features- what are you talking about?!
News flash: not everyone uses a given service in exactly the same way, so they have different needs.

I personally despise autoplay on any streaming service. If I've wandered off for a moment during the credits, I don't want to come back having missed a couple minutes of the next episode. (Hulu was particularly egregious with this when they revamped their app - they had unkillable autoplay, and if you watched the last episode of a show, why, they'd just pick some other show they guessed you might like, and they'd start playing that - and then, later, that'd get pulled up in the "pick up where you left off" section - that whole "we know what you want better than you do" bit was infuriating).

I still don't know why it is so difficult for these 'tech' companies to get simple TV UI figured out.
Comcast/Xfinity is lightyears ahead of anything Apple, Hulu, Amazon, Netflix, HBO, ect. has...

Its so simple. You just tell X1 you are looking for an action movie, made after 2005, on a premium network, free to me and BAM! A list of movies. So simple yet so granular.

All of the 'tech' companies overthink things in an effort to get you to watch their content and it takes away from the experience.

Like seriously Apple, stop showing me sports on ESPN+. Its not going to happen.
Like seriously Netflix, let me actually search your library by movie characteristics.
Like seriously Netflix, let me automatically log into a profile on a specific device.

This **** isn't rocket science.

Seriously Apple, bring actual search to the TV App, get me out of these ****** custom apps. Please, please, please, please!

The Netflix apps are, in my opinion, streets ahead of the other U.K. apps - BBC, ITV, All4 and C5 apps are all dross compared to Netflix. I’d like to be able to mark episodes or films as watched. Also, better discovery would be good. There’s no need for a Watch Again category unless I’ve already completed Netflix!

This is a good step but their last app design was absolutely HORRIBLE. They're just now catching up to HBO here.

I hate this so much. It actually makes me less likely to open the Netflix Apple TV app unless I know in advance what I'm going to watch.

The Hulu app is even worse. Totally unintuitive, and so difficult to navigate.

You're right, you can't even see what you're selecting in the Hulu app. The only thing worse is the Youtube app, where even the play controls are wonked up with stupid...they even screwed up the gestures that work in every single other app.

Wasn't next episode auto playback the thing we were talking about? Because mine looks exactly like the screenshot you posted.

Since we both quoted the same guy I'm a little bit puzzled right about now.. :D

Where can we submit bug reporting for this app? My app isn't remember all episodes I'm actually watching? It is making it confusing when I go back a few days later to a series and the app doesn't remember the that I actually watched the next 2 episodes and wants me to rewatch episodes. Really screws up the functionality of the play next episode. Instead of being able to quickly select the next episodes on a series page, it want to resume halfway through 2 episodes back from where i left off. But i really do like the the update in general. Especially since movies and tv shows are FINALLY separated. Geez.

I found this disorienting but it’s infinitely better than having to scroll up or down through numerous rows to find those settings and profiles and stuff.
