that's how it works on all the other platforms so I don't see why it would be different here. People using this app will need to keep a close eye on their data usage.

That's what I was thinking. So one persons data usage may be different from another user even though they watch the same show

I've been using the heck out of Netflix since i signed up for the free trial two weeks ago.

Sure glad I'm unlimited data :D

I like the official netflix app. The only downside for me vs the hacked netflix version is I don't think I can watch it in portrait mode. Which came in handy when having it docked

I watched a 2 hr movie last night I'm 3G and afterwards checked my usage. It looks like I used about 350mb-400mb.

WOW. I streamed a couple comedy shows at work yesterday just to listen to. This is from about 2 hours of streaming:

Not when a growing % of their customer base is paying when they go over...

This.

I predict that AT&T will try to figure out some way to get all of us "unlimited" folks off of unlimited. And that's about the same time that I will begin to count down the days until I can abandon them for another carrier. And folks? I've been with them since the nineties. I seriously have no desire to switch, but if they do that, I probably will switch as soon as the iPhone is available at another carrier (with unlimited data).

Greedy B*****s.

Good luck finding "another" carrier with unlimited Data, you will have to sacrify something (service, coverage etc), large carrier are always going to follow a very close trent.

Well, yeah... that's true. Fortunately, where I live, all the major carriers have good service. Still, I hate it when I see something that could be a major selling point (like unlimited data) being greedily curbed because the carrier is too cheap to upgrade their capacity (and it's not like they don't have the money to do it).

For them to drop my unlimited data, they would have to break my contract, unless they just put some huge restrictions on it, I would have to double check my contract at that point.

Yeah, I have a feeling AT&T will be having Apple pull this app or castrate it on 3G.

LOL, no way! It's been available on 3G for the iPad for month, on those unlimited plans, did they kill the app then.....ummmmm no, so this wont be pulled, if they do then Sling, Pandora, every 3G would have to be pulled, they all use tons of data when used at length...shhhh

If they do this, they'd be breaking contracts, losing money and we'd all have iPhone we could sell for hugs cash, you think theyd lose all these customers and let us away with our subsidized phones??? again, like the other guy, shhhhhhh

Can you guys maybe post data usage instead of stroking each others' egos?

I'm unlimited so what do I care ...

Watched 30 minutes of Taking of Pelham 123, used over 275MB. Thats about 1.1GB for the entire movie. THank god for unlimited!

Don't shush me.

There are far more iPhones in circulation than 3G iPads. Music apps don't use anywhere close to this type of bandwidth. I left pandora on 3G overnight many times and never went higher than 4GB. 2 hours of this took up 500MB.

Saying that my post is outlandish is realy uncalled for, especially given AT&T's history.
