on a smart tv, using Netflix and pressing info button will provide streaming information. How can you get this info if you’re watching Netflix on ATV?

Not sure, think you need a developer account? Only way I have streaming info for ATV is a third party app looking at the router throughput and that can be hit or miss depending on the router and what else the network is doing etc. Seems to indicate same as the native TV app, but then it could be in error.....

Right. I’m wanting to see whether Netflix is streaming at the right speed e.g. for 1080 and 4K shows.

My app says 4-6 (typically 5) for HD and 13-18 (typically 15) for 4k through the ATV for netflix. My router and App not a great match though so uncertain of the accuracy and unsure to recommend it though it gives the expected number but sometime erratic.

Last time I tried to get the ATV info hud via developer account there were a few hurdles to cross, setting up developer account and getting Xcode etc. Not sure how problematic that is as I gave up. Maybe someone who has this can comment.

Edit. When I say my App, I mean the one I purchased.

That's crazy. On a Roku, you just hit the * button to see this info on the screen.

Thanks guys, as Audit13 said, they dont make it easy lol.

There is a short video on Netflix called "El Fuente: 60 Main 10" that will show streaming bitrate info while playing. Here is a link to it if you can't find it by name.

Wouldn't this give the playback rate from a local drive? Don't think you can download 4k video for playback at 4k with DD+ or Atmos.

Uploaded a couple of screen shots from my Apple TV: Valerian 4k from iTunes Movies and Alter Carbon 4k from NetflixView attachment 775970 View attachment 775970 View attachment 775971 app.

Not sure where you coming from here. This is a Netflix streaming video. No download. No local drive. It just shows the bitrate and resolution that Netflix is feeding you.

Video bitrate indicated in those shots the decoded video bit rate (variable) not the actual streaming rate? Not overly familiar with what Apple does.

It would be interesting to see the encode setup for both Netflix and Apple 4k.

The rate is constantly changing and it is supposed to be the streaming rate according to what I have read.
