Netgear Dual Band and Macbook pro

I'm upgrading my 7mb ADSL BB to 30mb cable BB and was thinking of buying the new NETGEAR WNDR3700 RangeMax Dual Band,which broadcast 2.4 and 5 GHZ simultaneously and was wondering would the AirPort in my unibody 15" "running snow leopard "benefit from the dual 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands
Also You can attach a USB HDD to the Netgear would I be able to use the HDD with time machine to back up my macbook wirlelessly?
