Every time I open my MBP to go on to the internet, it says my internet connection timed out. I have to reset my router and then I get a connection. My HP laptop, however, never has a problem getting onto the internet. Is there a reason for me losing connection and not being able to get wireless internet unless I unplug and reset my router.

It really depends on the router you're using. Many older/cheaper routers don't play well with Apple products.

Try switching the channel that the network is broadcast on from your router admin settings.

Also, if you live in a townhome/apartment building this will happen more often due to the static from other wireless networks.

Changing the level of security encryption you use can also impact connections. Try turning off all security and see if you still have a problem. If not, then try a different level of encryption.
