i have installed vista home premium on my mac using the latest version of bootcamp, i get access to vista fine and i install the drivers too, they seem to be working as i can eject disks and adjust volume using my keyboard. on the device manager however the network controller, under the other devices tab has a yellow triangle next to it and windows cant locate my internet connection (i try to connect through the "connect to" option in the start menu and windows cant find any connections there) when i click the "why cant windows locate any connections" options it sends me back to the device manager and tells me to install the drivers for my network adapter however those are working correctly apparently and have the latest drivers installed.

Please help me

Thank you in advance

Double click on the device, what does it say under Device Status?

Also give me the Name of the adapter and the Hardware ID.

To get the Hardware ID go to the Details tab, in the drop down box choose 'Hardware Ids' then copy paste the ID's in the list (also can you post the 'Compatible Ids').

That way if its a bad driver(or a missing one), I can probably just link you to a new one.

The adapters name is network controller.
Under device status It says the drivers for this device are not installed (code 28).
I get 4 hardware ids

PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002A&SUBSYS_008F106B
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002A&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002A&CC_0280

the compatible ids are
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002A&REV_01
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002A
PCI\VEN_168C&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_168C&CC_0280
PCI\VEN_168C
PCI\CC_028000&DT_1
PCI\CC_028000

There's nothing wrong with it, just for some reason the Boot Camp setup didn't install the drivers.

I'll post back in a few with a link to the drivers. =P

These should be correct. If not, they just won't install.

Post pack and let me know if everything worked.

Note: You need to extract the Drivers from the CAB file before going through these steps. To do this double click the file you downloaded and drag all the files into a folder.

You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps.
  • Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.
  • In Device Manager, locate the device you want to update, and then double-click the device name.
  • Click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver and follow the instructions.

After the driver is installed and working, you can delete the files you extracted from the CAB (Windows will have copied them to its own cache folder).
