Is it possible to get an iPhone that will work on a UK network that isn't BT. I don't want to get one and unlock it incase it stops working, but want to keep the loyalty bonuses that I've built up with 3. Can anyone help? If I get an iPhone in the US will it work in the UK?

    You mean O2?
An unlocked iPhone is the only way to go if you want to be "free" of Apple/O2…

As 3 is a 3G network, if you are determined to use an iPhone on 3 you'd best wait until Apple actually release a 3G phone.
