Network Issue

I'm looking for assistance to resolve an issue that has me stumped.

When I converted from Windows to Mac I noticed that administering my joomla websites did not work ie I can not save updates or FTP to my host, I can however read and access the sites. Everything still works fine when accessing from my Windows laptop.

I have tried various scenarios such as connecting my Mac via my router both wireless and wired. I have also connected my Mac directly to the modem. Same issues regardless.

I contacted my web host and we have determined that there seems to be an anomaly when using traceroute.

I get the following when using tracert on my PC

It seems as though my iMac can't resolve the last hop. It only seems to effect uploads as downloading is fine.

I have just put XP on my Mac with bootcamp and all works fine, both trace and ftp but when I switch back to OS X my ftp uploads time out.

Any ideas?

In the Terminal.app try
traceroute -IS domain.com

As for ftp it should work in the terminal as well. Although you might try NCftp, it has better functionality (ability to store bookmarks for one thing). There are binary installers for it at http://www.ncftp.com/download/

I tried raceroute -IS domain.com from the terminal and it worked fine. What is the difference between doing in the terminal and the GUI?
