Network issues but internet and email OK

I have a powerbook G4 running OS X 10.4.11 and am having some network issues. I am unable to access the itunes home page through itunes and I am not able to run the apple software update. When trying I get a message saying that there is a problem with the network connection. I am able to connect to the internet, and have no problem with Email.

This seems to be a apple software issue, any ideas?
