I am operating a small art dept which has one G4 450 as the main art computer. It also has an ancient Quadra 700 to run an equally ancient plotter. The Quadra is running OS 7.5.3 (in order to run the software for the plotter), and the G4 is running OS 10.4.6, just upgraded from OS 9. They are connected via ethernet through a router/hub.

The problem: The Quadra is not visible on the network. I've had this happen in OS 9 (before the upgrade) and OS X. I've switched ports on the router, I've tried another computer on the same cable to the Quadra. I thought I had a low-tech workaround by using a floppy disk (remember those?) to copy files, but the Quadra does not seem to want to read anything from a floppy. I keep getting "disk error" when I try to copy something. There are no other drives on the Quadra and it's well before any sort of USB port.

I'm also having problems starting the G4 in classic mode (keeps giving me a "Connection Failed" error), but I can re-boot in OS 9 when I need to.

Thanks in advance.
