Makes sense, what with things going in and out. :p

I don't have a network theme, but my external storage devices (except my backup drive) are named after Cowboy Bebop characters (and if I ever get a Drobo or portable HD, ships too).
512MB thumb drive: Ein
2GB thumb drive: Ed
160GB drive: Spike
320GB drive: Jet

I have another case coming in on Tuesday that will hold a 200GB from my G3 tower, which will be my new backup drive. My former backup drive, 120GB, will most likely become Faye.

Yay for Cowboy Bebop!! I believe my Digital camera is still call Ein.

My devices use planet names from Star Wars:

MBP: Geonosis
iMac: Bakura
Ipod Nano: Hoth
Ipod Touch: Coruscant
Siemens Router: Sneeve
Managed Switch: Recopia
HP Printer: Alakatha
External HDD: Borleias

I'm going out there and saying this is the best idea ever!

Thanks mate.

Another one of my favorite naming schemes is the Periodic Table of Elements. When you use this scheme you can also use the Symbol or Atomic Number as an alias. Downside is you can't use it for big networks, since it's limited to 118 elements.

my network is the Dharma Initiative.... from LOST. :D

all my devices are base stations on the island.

iMac- The Swan
MB - The Hydra
TC - The Pearl
AirPort Express - The Flame
Printer - The Arrow

AEBS - gandalf

PB - shadowfax

AEX - strider
iPod 3G - sting
iPod 4G - samwise
Really old PC sever - fangorn (domain, obviously Mid-Earth)

awesome idea! Radar would surely be the wireless name right? if i got a Mac Pro id call it Hunnicutt.

chris pirillo uses names that start with "i" for his network and computers now that he has an extensive collections of Macs. i think his MBP is called iCarus… cant remember the other name.

mine are pretty boring. the family PC is called "thomas" so is the wireless n etwork, my MBP is called "MacBook Pro" and my brothers work laptop is called "I993944" presumably a work ID.

Network wise, I use Blizzard game names.

Airport Extreme - StarCraft
Linksys WRT54G - WarCraft

Everything else is just "BombBoy's" this and that.
