Normally I buy my phone at the store and they set it up, this time i had it delivered. I transferred everything from iCloud from my 11PM but my 11 is still connected to the ATT network and my 12 is only on wifi. Normally the older iPhone stops working. Is there something i need to do? Thanks

Have you considered calling AT&T. You may need to activate it. I had to and normally don't.

Having a similar problem with my Sprint Promax. You have to sign into their website to activate the phone but their website requires the use of two factor authentication and an un-activated phone can't receive text messages. Grumble.

My old phone already has been wiped because I assumed restoring a backup would just let the new phone continue like
the old. Not so!

Yea! So weird every year as soon as i start using the new phone the old phone stops working as far as cellular goes, can’t i just swap sim cards?

That I can not answer properly till my wife gets home but I believe you can't due to 5G. She works for AT&T. If not answered before then I will respond back.

When you purchased the phone online you had an option. You had to select “Prepare for carrier activation now” or “Activate with your carrier later”. If you selected the first option then you have entered your wireless number and other details to connect the phone to your wireless account at the time of purchase. Then when you received the phone it would ask for your zip code and last four of your social as part of the setup and then automatically activate the phone on your wireless account.

If you selected the second option then it won’t automatically activate and you will need to either contact your carrier or transfer the SIM from your old phone to your new phone.
