Hi
I'm visiting my mom and trying to access the internet via one of her neighbors. He's has ok'd this and gave me his password. In the past, this has worked. But now, my daughter can access internet on her mac, but I cannot. I have both mac right here side by side. One has access, one does not.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Does the neighbor have Mac Address Filtering turned on? That can be set up to only allow specified wireless devices (laptops, iPhones, iPod Touch's, etc) access to the wireless network.

A good clue is that if you can "see" the wireless network, and put in the passoword, but it still doesn't let you in, chances are that Mac Address Filtering is enabled.

network problem

thanks for the suggestions.
When I put the password in it's telling me the airport doesn't have an IP address and cannot connect to the internet. My airport is on, but not connected.
In the past, this has happened when the guy's router was turned off. But since I can access internet through the second computer, I know it's on.
My husband thought if I delete his setting, turn computer off, then re-install it that might work, but I can't delete.
This is very strange.
