Network setting on macbook not recognizing usb tethered iphone 4.

I'm using mywi on 4.3.3 and for some reason usb tethering is not working. When I plug in my iphone via usb its recognized on itunes but not as a network device. The wifi hotspot works, but not usb tethering. Any reason why?
