Network Share Not Asking For Username & Password

We have a networked hard disk drive (cheap NAS box with a single hard disk) that one of our departments use to save images on.

One of our Mac users is trying to access this share using smb://nas1/images but isnt being prompted for a username and password like her Windows colleagues do.

How can I connect a Mac to this share using credentials?
