Networked Printer

    i have the printer installed on a windows 10 machine and works no worries and its shared,now my problem is my imac with Sierra installed it finds it and i pick the select software and pick the oki c711(ps) driver it installs no worries but when i go to print anything from my mac to the oki it just comes up with the printer icon like its going to print and nothing else happens . i have tried to reset printers and tried again but no luck have you got any ideas.

    It's connected to the network (wired or wireless) or is it connected to the Windows machine via USB?

    Does it have ethernet or wifi? That would be preferable.

    If it's connected to the Windows machine via USB you have to get printer sharing working properly there and the Windows computer must be "ON" for the Mac to be able to print. I haven't set up that sort of sharing lately so I'm not sure of the process.

    Can you connect the printer directly to your router via ethernet?
