Okay... so I've searched and searched... as a last resort, I'm posting... please don't beat me up if this has already been asked/answered. I genuinely tried :)

I am about to buy 4 new Macs... as a first time Mac user! My family is just fed up with Windows and all the crap that comes along with it.
My question is what is the best way to set up a shared database of information - for instance a wireless external harddrive. I've been looking at the Time Capsule, but I've read a lot of bad reviews, plus I'm not certain of how many computers it will support.

    What we'll be purchasing:
2 iMacs, 21.5" (for the kids)
    2 MBP, 15" & 17" (for hubby & myself)

    Ideal functionality:
Storage space to 'backup' important documents/photos/music etc...
Wireless (could go through wireless router if needed/possible) connection so that the computers don't have to be "taken to" the harddrive.

Thanks for any help you can provide...

On mine I put a powered USB2 hub to my Time Capsule with Two hard drives & a printer) and access any video from it on my HTPC Mac mini and my Mac Book Pro as long as two computers don't try to access the same video file at the same time.
