I have a Late 2011, MacBook Pro, El Capitan 10.11.3

I need to setup a LAN

I have: Netgear N300 Wireless Router
Two BenQ MX764

Ideally I would like to connect my macbook wirelessly to router ->
Connect projectors to router via ethernet->
Then utilize either BenQ's software or any other software to use screens as second monitor.

Currently I cannot even see projector with router connected via ethernet.

But Im not saying I know what I'm doing given my current situation.

Hi jkaik8589,

These are cool! Never knew you could do this. Okay. You're going to have to do some troubleshooting.

1. Can you confirm the model number on the Netgear as being WNR2000? If so, these are only 10/100 LAN ports, which may not be up to what you want to do, you'll know if it cuts in and out/choppy.
2. It also looks to be only a 2.4ghz wireless device, which means if you're in an apartment block you're going to most likely have streaming issues anyway.
3. If the Mac is connected to Ethernet (Turn Airport off too, just to be sure) can you see them?
4. If not then make sure the Projector/s are acquiring an IP address, I'm SURE there's a menu option that will show you the current network setup on the projector. Remember 169.xxx.xxx.xxx means they can't get an IP address.
5. If they are getting an IP address, just double check that the Mac is getting one that is in the same range/looks similar, last digits will be different
6. If all is good here, try opening Network Utility and Pinging a projector, do you get a response? If so. Great! Then the problem is....no idea, maybe software?
7. Update El Cap make sure the Benq Software is El Cap compatible and updated. This should be the first point...but...ya know.

Let me know what you come back with. The more information the better. Maybe not a novel though.

Cheers,

Read the above. There is a small setup procedure to do before you move on to the software side of things.
