Hi,

Recently I gave my wireless access to a friend living next door. I know that it is habit to visit certain (porn) websites that my ISP does not allow. And i could not say NO to him as well when he asked for the access.

I am wondering if there is any program that i can use (in my mac of course) to block those websites over the wifi?

Thanks for any answer!

The only way I can think of is with OpenDNS. It is possible to get around it, but I think it's the only way.

Thanks for quick reply. Looks like exactly what i want. But is there any software that i can install locally in my mac? I dont feel very comfy doing it online.

Its not really a software solution you need.

Either you can use a new router which has Parental controls built in, or as the poster above suggests use OpenDNS. If you go the Open DNS route then I would make sure they don't have access to the router configuration.

The other option is to explain that you are not comfortable with what they are doing. You are doing them a favour so they should respect what you say.

My only concern is that I prefer my ISP´s DNS server. I did some google searching and found out that there is really no software?! I ll have a talk with him and see...
